Springtime in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana is a special time…the meadowlarks announcing their return, the trout rising, and the sweet smell of new cottonwood leaves in the air makes it one of my favorite times of year. This painting depicts the Bitterroot range and a local spring creek near my home where I've spent many a day fishing and painting...mostly fishing.
