This painting is in overall excellent condition. Under UV areas of inpainting are evident in the sky; there are also small spots of possible inpainting or pentimenti by the artist’s hand on the boat, oar, shotgun, figures’ coats and the dead duck and rope in the boat. There is a small area of loss in the lower left corner, but the board is otherwise bright and clear. The painting was just reframed and the wood frame is in excellent condition.
