The painting appears to be in good condition with some visible cracking along the stretcher bar areas, some pin dot areas of loss along the left side crack, faint craquelure is visible throughout the right and center sky area, the paint is stable throughout. The painting has been examined under blacklight which indicated the following areas of inpainting: the upper left side along the frame edge, a 3 inch area at the upper left, scattered sections along the upper right and right side stretcher bar areas, minor spots across the mountain top, a small 1 inch area at the tree base on the right side, scattered dots at the lower right, scattered pin dots at the lower center, and an approximately 3 inch are of inpainting at the tree base at lower left. The frame appears to be in good condition with faint miter splits at the upper right corner.
